Davis S. traveled to Colorado Springs to compete in the National Junior Olympic Rifle matches. David competed in the International Air Rifle match where he finished 24th with a score of 1142. He also competed in Smallbore Rifle where he finished ninth with a score of 2278. Congratulations David.
The Junior Olympic State Championship matches were held in Orlando Florida on January 11 & 12, 2003.
David S. earned a Gold medal in the men's Smallbore Rifle match, and a Gold medal in the men's Air Rifle match. Curtis G. earned a Silver medal in the men's Air Rifle match, and a Bronze medal in the men's Smallbore Rifle match. David's win in the events earned him the right to represent the state at the National Junior Olympic Matches, at the Olympic Training Center, in Colorado Springs. Congratulations WAC shooters!
Curtis's performance in International Air Rifle earned him the last phase in the Marksmanship Qualification Program to become a distinguished expert in International Air Rifle.
At the FSSA junior league match in Jacksonville, Curtis G earned his DISTINGUISHED EXPERT ranking in the NRA Marksmanship Qualification program, for smallbore rifle under the American Rifleman program. Curtis was awarded his medal at the Wyoming Antelope Club monthly dinner meeting on November 20, 2002. Curtis was very pleased at attaining this level of proficiency and looks forward to earning the DISTINGUISHED EXPERT ranking in air rifle as well.
